Our Story
A Journey Fueled By Compassion
Our Story:
Compassionate Connections was born from a deep-rooted passion to make a real difference in the lives of others. My journey began in eighth grade when my grandmother, who raised me, had a stroke. I spent that summer living at the Waterman Village Rehab Facility, where I witnessed the power of compassionate care firsthand. I was deeply moved by the impact of physical therapy, and I knew that I wanted to help people in that same way. Initially, my dream was to become a physical therapist, but life led me to become a CNA and a home health aide instead.
Working in nursing homes, I saw the compassionate care gap that needed to be filled. I witnessed how many difficult cases were labeled as “difficult” when all the clients needed was a little attention, patience, and understanding. I took it upon myself to go above and beyond, answering call lights, helping seniors with mobility challenges, and ensuring their dignity and comfort were prioritized. It became clear to me that compassionate care was more than just providing a service—it was about truly connecting with people and offering them respect and empathy in their time of need.
In 2016, at 24 years old with a newborn, no business experience, and a passion for helping people, I set out to build Compassionate Connections. I started from the ground up, becoming the first caregiver myself and hiring others who shared my dedication to compassionate service. I had no formal training or financial backing, but I had something that mattered even more: passion. Eight years later, we’re a thriving company that continues to provide excellent care based on trust, integrity, and compassion. Our team is built on hiring individuals who understand that care is more than a job—it’s a calling.
